Protect Ladera is an independent environmental advocacy organization giving Ladera Ranch residents a strong voice on the environmental issues affecting our community.
Our community is facing serious questions about potential environmental risks. Residents have raised concerns about pesticides, soil and water quality, air quality, and other possible sources of exposure. We do not begin with assumptions about what has or has not caused illness. We begin with questions, and with the belief that legitimate environmental concerns deserve serious attention and responsible action.
When concerns arise, we want them taken seriously. When safer practices are available, we want them selected. When policies can better protect our children, families, people, pets, wildlife, and environment, we will advocate for those changes. We work with residents, experts, agencies, and elected leaders at the local, county, state, and federal levels to promote safer practices, strengthen protections, improve transparency, and advance meaningful policy change.
Our first step is simple: we are asking every Ladera Ranch resident one question about the use of conventional pesticides and herbicides in our parks, greenbelts, and open spaces. The answers will be presented where decisions get made, starting with the LARMAC board meeting on September 9.
