FAQ

What is Protect Ladera?

An independent community environmental advocacy organization that educates, engages, and gives Ladera Ranch residents a strong voice on the environmental issues affecting our community. We work with elected officials, agencies, community leaders, and decision makers to promote safer practices, greater transparency, stronger environmental protections, and meaningful policy change.

Who runs it?

Protect Ladera was founded by Ladera Ranch residents. It is neighbor-led, volunteer-run, and independent of the HOA, property managers, and any other organization.

What is the community survey?

One question: do you support banning the routine use of conventional pesticides and herbicides in Ladera Ranch parks, greenbelts, and open spaces and transitioning to organic and non-chemical alternatives? One tap, yes or no, at protectladera.org. Results show live on the page.

Is my vote anonymous?

Yes. Voting requires no name, email, or personal information, and your identity is not attached to your vote. If you optionally sign up to help after voting, that information is stored separately and is never sold or shared. Details in our privacy page.

What happens on September 9?

The LARMAC board meets September 9, 2026 to consider pesticide policy for the common areas it maintains. We’ll present the survey results there. Attendance matters: a full room shows the board how much this community cares.

Is Protect Ladera claiming pesticides caused illnesses?

No. We do not begin with assumptions about what has or has not caused illness. Our position is precaution: when safer practices are available for our parks and shared spaces, they are worth choosing, regardless of what any investigation ultimately finds.

How can I help?

Take the survey, share it with neighbors, and use the signup form after voting to tell us how you’d like to help: attending the September 9 meeting, volunteering, joining events, or contacting officials. And follow @protectladera everywhere.

Can I donate?

Yes. Protect Ladera is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation (EIN 42-4485344) and a 501(c)(3) public charity recognized by the IRS, effective August 17, 2026. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. The donate page says exactly what your donation funds.

How do I reach you?
