The Issue

Nobody is counting

The same active ingredients can reach a Ladera Ranch child three separate ways: common areas, school grounds, and front yards, applied by different operators reporting to different authorities. No one adds it up.

The Fix

One ask, in Sacramento.

Rule-by-rule fixes don't hold. A local spray was announced and retracted this month only because residents were watching. The durable fix is a statewide ban on conventional pesticides in residential areas, so no neighborhood depends on who happens to be paying attention.

Hi, my name is [your name] and I live in [your city]. I'm calling to ask the legislator to support a statewide ban on conventional pesticides in residential areas. We are parents, not farmers, and our neighborhoods should not be regulated like farmland. Thank you.

Alternatives

Something to vote for

We're not the "no" people. Irvine has run organic-first landscaping since 2016, and roughly 160 cities have followed.

Organic-first maintenance

Proven organic programs keep parks and greenbelts healthy without conventional pesticides.

Integrated pest management

Prevention first, targeted response only when needed, with the least-toxic option every time.

Mechanical & thermal weed control

Mowing, mulching, hand removal, and heat treatment handle weeds without spraying anything.

Resident notification standards

Clear, advance notice before any application, so families can plan around it.

Community greenbelts can be maintained beautifully with organic-first programs. Irvine has proven it for a decade.

From our campaign

We are parents, not farmers. Our neighborhoods should not be regulated like farmland.
